Seamus lifted his head and put on his biggest smile when he heard the “miniature Lavender” walking through the door. He picked her up and hugged her. “G’morning, Leah. Did you get a good nights sleep?” he asked, trying to sound as perky and excited as possible. It was kind of like witnessing Lavender all through school all over again with Leah around. Even though she was rowdy and bossy, Seamus couldn’t help but love her.

Lavender took Leah from Seamus, the little girl just bouncing with energy. “How about I get you some hot chocolate and set up some telly for you?” She laughed, setting the kid down and walking over to the kitchen where she made the coco. She made an extra cup for herself- the bitter taste of Seamus’ coffee not too pleasing at the moment. She walked back over to the living room and turned it on- flipping to a channel Leah would like. She had insisted they had a T.V. in the house, a bit of muggle equipment in the house reminded her of home. After Leah was settled, she walked over to where Seamus was and sat on his lap, sipping her chocolate.

Leah was already excited, unsurprising to Seamus. “How about I get you some hot chocolate and set up some telly for you?” he heard Lavender say. This meant that it was time to get up and go into the living room with them, and spend the rest of his time before he went off to work, with his two favorite girls. He sat down in his recliner, carrying the cup of almost cold plain coffee that Lavender seemed to hate with him. He propped his feet up on the coffee table in front of him and stared at the television in front of him. Silly children cartoons. Seamus smirked when he saw Lavender come towards him. She crawled onto his lap, just like she would do when they first started dating. He wrapped his arms around her and pressed a soft kiss to her lips, while Leah stared, interested, at the television.

Seamus crossed his arms over his chest and leaned back in his seat, glaring at Lavender. “Oh, do you want me to just stop by after working almost nine hours and do it? Or maybe we could just send Leah out.” he rolled his eyes and took another sip of his coffee. Lavender didn’t work, and she very seldom help keep the cottage clean. It was a touchy subject that he’d only usually bring up on Lavender’s good days, when she wasn’t still half asleep. He heard the stairs creak, and he knew it was Leah. “Oh great…” Seamus yawned and put his head down on the table, not prepared for what little hyperactive Leah had in store for them at 5:34am.

Lavender couldn’t help but grin as she turned back to Leah, glaring back at Seamus as she walked over to their daughter and scooped her up. She kissed the little girls forehead and walked back over to Seamus. “Say good morning to Dada, Leah.” She said softly and knelt down beside him. She loved mornings like that, when they were all together. It was such a simple thing, really.

Seamus cringed as he felt the newspaper connect with his head. “Watch it! I’ve just grown most of my hair and eyebrows back!” he said quietly, trying not to wake Leah. He grabbed his cup of coffee and followed her to the kitchen. “You know what would be nice? … Some breakfast!” he said, smirking at Lavender. He knew that teasing her in the morning usually pissed her off. He walked by her on his way to check the fridge for something, some sign of leftovers, but… nothing. “And, you need to go to the grocery store as well! If we don’t get food soon, Leah’s going to start eating the house up.” he laughed quietly and took a seat at the table.

Lavender rolled her eyes and followed Seamus to the table. She took his cup from him and sipped it, sticking her tongue out at him afterwards. She wasn’t in the mood for the small teasing today. She placed the paper down on the table and sat down across from him, smacking his wrist lightly with the paper that she had picked up again. “Honestly Seamus…”

The sun had just began to rise above the trees, casting a bright yellow glow over the shimmering water out in front of the Finnigans’ cottage. Seamus Finnigan had just awoken earlier than usual to prepare for an early morning in the Ministry of Magic, working as a Potioneer. He was sitting at the breakfast table with his legs crossed, reading the Daily Prophet. A warm cup of coffee sat untouched beside of him. Nothing much had changed in the Finnigan-Brown household. Nothing accept a child, that Seamus had longed for since he had first gotten engaged to Lavender. Their daughter, Leah, looked just like a miniature Lavender. Golden curls that fell just below her shoulders, loud, outspoken. A little too outspoken for a four year old, actually. Seamus heard footsteps coming through the living room, the door to the kitchen swung open. He didn’t even bother to look up from his newspaper, because he knew whoever it was was probably angry. Because he had just woken them up. 

“Seamus! You can’t just barge into the bedroom and wake me up like-” Lavender paused mid sentence, yawning abruptly. She brought her hand to her mouth, covering it as she yawned before blinking and looking back at him. “My alarm hadn’t even gone off yet!” She walked over and took the newspaper from him, wacking him over the head with it as she walked into the kitchen. She pulled her pink bathrobe tightly around her and shivered as she walked across the cold stone floor of the kitchen. Honestly, she didn’t want to wake up Leah but it was too early for her to be awake, it seemed.
